The Fractured But Whole is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Those that preorder the game will get an "exclusive in-game assistant, Towelie: Your Gaming Bud," who provides "helpful and hilarious advice and commentary to players at key locations throughout the game." The previous game in the series, 2013's South Park: The Stick of Truth, was made by Fallout: New Vegas studio Obsidian Entertainment. South Park: The Fractured But Whole is being developed internally at Ubisoft San Francisco. At the time Ubisoft said this was to "make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans." The game was moved to Q1 2017 (January-March, 2017), but suffered another delay. The game, which was written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, was originally set to come out in December 2016, but in September of that year it was delayed to 2017.
